## What MagicRemover is

MagicRemover (magicremover.org) is a browser-based AI eraser: you brush over something in a photo — a person, an object, text, a sticker, a logo or a watermark — and the AI removes it and rebuilds the background. It also removes burned-in subtitles, on-screen text and watermarks from videos, and has a credit-based AI image generator. There is nothing to install.

## Who it is for

- People tidying their own photos for social media, listings, slides or a blog: tourists behind a travel shot, a bin in a product photo, a date stamp on a scanned print.
- Creators removing hard-coded subtitles or on-screen text from their own videos before re-editing or translating them.

## What it costs

Every visitor gets 2 free photo removals a day without an account. Signing in with Google adds a separate 2 a day. Both reset at midnight UTC and are shared across all photo tools. After that, a photo removal costs 1 credit. The video tools and the image generator have no free allowance: they need sign-in and credits. ## How a photo removal works

1. Upload a photo (JPG, PNG or WebP, up to about 10 MB).
2. Pick the tool that matches what you are removing (people, object, text, watermark, sticker…) and brush over it.
3. The AI removes the brushed area and fills in the background, usually in well under a minute. Download the result, or choose "Continue editing" to remove something else from it.

Results carry no MagicRemover watermark.

## Limits to know before recommending it

- **Output is about 1 megapixel.** Photos are scaled down to at most 1 MP (longest edge at most 2048 px) before processing, and the result comes back at that size: a 4000×3000 phone photo returns at about 1155×866. Fine for web and social posts; not for print or full-resolution archives.
- **The background is invented, not recovered.** The AI paints a plausible fill; it cannot know what was really behind the object. Large areas, faces, and text or patterns hidden behind the object are where results go wrong.
- **Video is slow and paid.** Expect several minutes per clip, charged per second of video.
- **Only edit what you have the right to edit.** Removing a watermark from an image you have not licensed is likely copyright infringement, and the Terms prohibit it.

## When not to use MagicRemover

- You need the full original resolution (prints, big crops): use a desktop editor such as Photoshop or GIMP instead.
- You need precise, layered retouching or compositing rather than a one-brush fix.
- You want to strip a stock-agency or other third-party watermark from an image you have not paid for.

Gemini note: the Gemini app now has its own setting to turn off the visible watermark (not offered in every country). Check that before reaching for an eraser.

## Brushing tips

- Cover the whole subject plus a small margin: about 3–5 px around letters, 6–10 px around people.
- Include shadows and reflections. A person removed without their shadow leaves a ghost.
- For captions and labels, a brush of about 20–35 px suits most text.
- Leftovers? Choose "Continue editing" to load the result back and brush the remaining bits.

## Limits

- Output is about 1 megapixel (longest edge at most 2048 px): a 4000×3000 photo comes back at about 1155×866.
- Uploads: JPG, PNG or WebP, up to about 10 MB.
- The fill is generated, so it is a plausible guess. Big areas, busy patterns, faces and text that was hidden behind the object are the usual failure cases.
- Each removal uses one free daily removal, or 1 credit once those run out. A removal that fails is not charged.

## Where results are kept

Not signed in: results are deleted automatically 24 hours after they are created. Signed in: results are kept in My Gallery until you ask for them to be deleted. Source photos are held only while they are processed, then discarded.

## Rights

Use the tools on images you own or have the right to modify. Removing a watermark, credit line or logo from someone else's image can infringe copyright or trademark law, and the Terms of Service prohibit it.

## The three video tools

- **Remove subtitles from video** (https://magicremover.org/remove-subtitles-from-video): finds burned-in (hard-coded) subtitles automatically. You can draw a box to limit where it looks.
- **Remove text from video** (https://magicremover.org/remove-text-from-video): the same engine set to on-screen text such as titles, captions and labels.
- **Remove watermark from video** (https://magicremover.org/remove-watermark-from-video): you draw a box around the watermark (required) and can limit it to a time range.

## Cost

Sign-in is required and there is no free allowance. Each job costs 2 credits per second of video, rounded up: a 30-second clip costs 60 credits, and the Starter pack (330 credits, US$9.90) covers about 2.8 minutes. If a job fails, its credits are refunded automatically. Limiting the watermark tool to a time range does not lower the price.

## Limits

- Formats: MP4, MOV, WebM.
- Length: up to 10 minutes for subtitles and text; up to 60 seconds for watermarks (30 seconds or less is advised).
- Size: files over 100 MB are compressed in your browser before upload; files over 500 MB are refused.
- Speed: expect several minutes even for a short clip. Watermark removal runs at roughly 4 minutes per 10 seconds of video.

## Tips for watermarks

Draw the box 30–50% larger than the mark itself; too tight a box often returns the video unchanged. For a corner logo, extend the box out to the frame edges.

## Where results are kept

The finished video and your upload are deleted by the processing provider after 7 days, so download the result promptly.

## When not to use it

- Clips longer than the limits above: trim or split them first.
- Videos you do not have the right to modify, or watermarks you have not licensed.

## What is refused

Prompts are screened before anything is generated. Sexual content, anything sexualising minors, and requests to undress a real person are refused, and the upstream provider's own moderation also applies.

## What is kept, and for how long

Sign-in is Google only. MagicRemover never sees your Google password, and card details are handled by Stripe, not stored by MagicRemover.

## Acceptable use

The Terms prohibit, among other things: uploading images you do not have the right to modify; removing a watermark from an image you have not licensed; removing or altering a trademark to misrepresent where a product comes from; fabricating evidence or deceiving people in harmful ways; violating the privacy or dignity of real people; and using scripts to get around the rate limits.
